During Thanksgiving, we visited Lynden for a week to help launch a new All-Stars Club for individuals with special needs in the Whatcom County Area. The launch was a major success, we had 25 all-stars at our first event which was a record launch for an All-Stars Club.
To celebrate we decided to take a short overnight trip with my sisters (Alexa and Jenna) to Vancouver, since Andrei had never been to Canada before and wanted to mark it off the bucket list. The first thing we wanted to check out was the Canadian Costco. We had heard exciting stories about how much Canadians love their Costco… Oh boy, it was extremely crowded, sample lines wrapped around aisles, and the food court was shoulder to shoulder as if Disney had opened a new ride! We left in a hurry, and decided to go get some food at Chinatown
Andrei was with three girls adopted from China, but thought he might know what to order since he did a great job ordering food in San Frans Chinatown, so we let him order. Huge mistake -_- he ordered this chicken deluxe dumpling that looked like processed dog food and wow was it not appealing. The other dimsum items were not bad, but it was not our best Chinatown experience.
That evening we checked out the Christmas market and enjoyed the Christmas lights and ocean view from the Vancouver Harbor. Vancouver is a very pretty city once you get passed the homeless people and sketchy parts of downtown.
The next morning we checked out some shops and the gastown district. We even went up into an observation deck and got 360 views of Canada. We finished our adventures in Chinatown with some dsserts and Boba Tea to ensure everyone was full before we hit the road.
